Hey everyone!
Just wanted to see how you guys are doing as far as you goals are concerned--if you have any. If not, that's cool too. I started back riding last year. so, I am really a newbie, so to speak.
Last year this time: I could barely do 15 miles per ride with an average speed of 10 - 12 MPH. Kept at it until it got too cold to ride. I am also not ashamed to say that I lost 10lbs last summer/fall.
Sooooooo, I was excited and wanted to keep the party going. Did a lot of work during the winter to get to my goal weight and build some upper body/core/leg strength. It was hard, but was it worth it? Yes.
This year: I am averaging about 20-25 miles per ride with an average speed of 14 MPH. last weekend I clocked 37.5 total miles at 13.8MPH. I kept looking at the readout in total disbelief. "Awesome!" I finally said, to myself. oh and my waist is 3 inches smaller and since January, I have lost 6 more pounds. at my goal weight.
So that's where I am to-date. Anyone else have a story they want to share?
